Cloud Computing is not what you think!

Cloud computing, what is it ? Is that the computing which makes use of clouds that cause Rains ? Does bad weather and thunder storms effect cloud computing ??

the answer is absolutely NO.

Then what actually is Cloud Computing ??

A technology that uses the internet and central remote servers to maintain data and applications and which allows consumers and businesses to use applications without installation and access their personal files at any computer with internet access,is cloud computing.

The name comes from the cloud symbol that's often used to represent the Internet in flowcharts & diagrams.

In what way it is used or deployed ?

IaaS (Infrastructure as a service) : It  includes getting "On-demand acess" to network connection, storage space with a flexibility to increase or decrease and server capacity.

• Google's Google Drive
• Microsoft's Sky Drive
• Drop Box 
• Sugar Sync etc; are few cloud storage service providers.

PaaS(Platform as a service) :  It is a way to rent hardware, operating systems, storage and network capacity over the Internet. The service delivery model allows the customer to rent virtualized servers and associated services for running existing applications or developing and testing new ones.

• www.bungeelabs.com  provides Platform as a service to develop or build applications.

SaaS(Software as a Service) : Rather than buying the licenses and upgrading the hardware to run high end applications in-house, one can use cloud computing to run the applications.

• Google Docs is the best example for SaaS.

And coming to the types of cloud computing, it is of three types.                                                

Public cloud :   A public cloud provides all of the infrastructure and services through the Internet.The         customer has no visibility and control over where the computing infrastructure is hosted. The computing infrastructure is shared between any organizations.

Private cloud :  The computing infrastructure is dedicated to a particular organization and not shared with other organizations. Some experts consider that private clouds are not real examples of cloud computing. Private clouds are more expensive and more secure when compared to public clouds.

Hybrid cloud : Organizations may host critical applications on private clouds and applications with relatively less security concerns on the public cloud. The usage of both private and public clouds together is called hybrid cloud.

So,this was brief description about cloud computing. And if you are still not clear about this,let me give you few more simple examples about the services we use daily but are not aware of.

•   we get electricity to our homes only if we pay electricity bill.
•   we get internet connection only after paying the bill to service providers.
•   telephone connection,water supply facility...all these come under the concept of " PAY & USE". we are using these resources by paying.

Error deleting file or folder in windows? try Unlocker!

We often come across these annoying messages while working on windows operating system ,

• cannot delete file : Access is denied.
• the file is in use by another program or user.
• there has been sharing violation.
• make sure the disk is not full or write protected and that file is not currently in use.
• the source or destination file is in use.                                                            (UPDATED)

what we generally do is,just click ok and then keep calm until the task gets completed.

But no,there is a best alternative,and that is Unlocker.

• All you have to do is, install the software and simply right-click the file or folder you want to delete and select Unlocker.

• If the file or folder is locked or in use, a window listing of lockers will appear.
• Click unlock all and you're done!   

There may be some files which cannot be deleted instantly,but they surely can be removed during the next boot.

Facebook now allows Fullscreen view of images

             Though Facebook has been frequently updating and changing it's interface time to time,there is no such case where we can hardly find the users criticising zuckerberg.'coz  the way it looks and it's features has made 'em not to do so.  Recently, there is a remarkable change in the facebook's image viewing.Now,we are allowed to view the images full screen.

                All you have to do is,just click on the image. It opens in a new dark background.At the top right corner of the image you can see the double sided arrow,when you hover your mouse pointer on it displays Full-screen mode.click it for the real or hd view of your image.And to get back to the normal view just press the escape button on your keyboard.

             It can also be done in other way,click on the options button which is at the bottom of the image.A drop down list appears where several options are provided along with fullscreen option.click it and enjoy the image.

    

And this option works fine with the HD images thus making 'em more neat and clean to view.

How to Save/Download Images from IMDb website (simple trick)

              IMDb ( Internet Movie Database ) is an online database of information related to movies,actors,television shows,production crew personnel,video games and fictional characters featured in visual entertainament media. It is also a place where you find High definiton images of your favourite celebrities in huge number.

Few people (like me) visit Imdb to view (and download) images rather than reading reviews of any movie or game.But unfortunatley,like most of the websites do, Imdb too disabled the right click option on images which inturn results disabling the image downloads,which is very hard to digest.Though you can download them using "save whole page " option in your browser but,the quality of image how ever reduces.Sometimes you may just get the thumbnails of images you needed.

     Whatever guyz,you need not to worry about all these ..'coz there is an alternative through which you can get Images of original quality from the website and this post is all about,

"How to Download Images from IMDb.com ?"                                                                   

It is a very simple trick and you feel the same when you get to know.

• open IMDb website.
• Type the name of actor/actress/fictional character/movie in the search box provided beside the logo of the site,which you wish to see and hit enter.
• The search result provides you few links,among which you can choose your desired one.

• Below the topic ,you will find few more links viz.,Photos,Videos,articles,full cast and crew and many more.
• On clicking Photos,you'll be redirected to the page containing photos .And there you can have a thumbnail view of images(photos).Click on the Image you'd like to download.
• Now,you'll be able to view enlarged image.(try to right click it...but you won't get a list of options which means it is disabled so that users can't download images from the website).
• Press and hold Ctrl key and then press 'u' key( which means Ctrl U or Ctrl+u ),that takes you to newly opened tab where you can see bunch of code over there.Just ignore it.
• Or,you can also try this by right clicking anywhere on the page except where image exists,and then choose "View page source" option which lands you on new tab containing huge code.

• After that,search for  " .jpg "  in the page containing code which is done by pressing and holding  Ctrl key and then F key( Ctrl f or Ctrl +f  ) there in the search box provided at the top right of the page and then hit enter on keyboard.
• The search result highlights the lines of code which consists ".jpg".
• All you need is to scroll down to the 19th line of code (as the numbers are indicated on the very left side of each line of code) or simply check for the very first occuring ".jpg" result.
• Click on that link ,which now opens a new window with your desired Image/ Photo perfectly with original Resolution that you can download with ease.I think you know how to download an image :) (smiling) if not, then just press ctrl + s,which saves the image on current page to your hard disk.

If you don't know what's your exact latitude and longitudinal position,just enter the zip code and hit locate button,which inturn takes you to stereopsis.com website where it asks your city name,when you enter the name,it checks for your location and gives you the exact latitudinal and longitudinal position.It also provides the facilty to copy/cut it  which you can paste in the previously popped-up window.After that click Ok.That's it we are almost done.


→ The other option which is not so important is,the transistion speed which you can set it as fast/slow as you wish.

→ Last but not the least,an option to disable this app for an hour or more.This is useful 'cause when you need to work on photoshop or any other light based work,brightness/colour of the screen is all matters.So,mark this option when you like to disable and unmark it to enable.

How to sort your mails in Gmail with simple steps

                  Hello friends,you would be spending major portion of the day organising and scheduling your plans  and might be busy with your time and trying not to waste a single second ...hope my post helps you to reduce the wastage of  valuable time while dealing with the mails.

                                              Everyone with an email id gets number of mails by subscribing to kind of forums,blogs or even say facebook(notifications),

which may be very useful and important or sometimes may be useless .,  Locating your important mail from the hundreds or thousands of mails and reading it becomes a hard task. Also, the inbox will be filled with unsorted mails which sometimes may be left unread unknowingly.So to get rid of these overheads, Gmail has provided a facility to sort out (group)the mails by subject,sender etc..using filters.

steps to create labels using filters : (Updated)  

• First of all open the mail for which you are going to create a filter.

• Now,click the drop down menu which is located exactly beside the "reply"button and click on Filter messages like this.

• A small new window opens showing the details of sender (mail) and at the bottom right you'll find an option saying create filter with this search , go click it.

•  The  window shows many options,just mark skip the inbox option and to create a new label mark Apply the label and there click on New label.It launches a small window asking you to name the label you are about to create. Name it and don't forget to mark "also apply the filter to matching messages".

•  click on Create Filter. That's it, a filter of your desired mails is created with a label.

• In the same way you can create many such filters which reduces your time to go through whole inbox.The created filters appear as shown in the image below.

                                                                                 

And coming to advantages of these filters,you can not only empty your inbox safely  but also track useless mails that are to be ignored or deleted completely.

How to set "review posts and photos" option in your Facebook profile

                    As the usage of Facebook has enormously increased these days,at the same time the usage of applications in facebook has also been increased. There are several thousands of apps which include games and the other, which create images and tag the user and his/her friends in them, which looks quite embarassing some times.Most of the facebook users get irritated because of  the pics they get tagged in automatically that inturn appear on their  profiles(timeline).


So,the question is how to turn on the option to review posts and photos you're tagged in before they appear on your profile?


Here is the solution facebook has provided , which most of us haven't noticed still.Profile review, it allows you to review posts and photos you're tagged in before they go on your profile (timeline).

How to turn on profile review ?

->Click the account menu  at the top right of your Facebook profile(timeline).

->Now,choose privacy settings.

->And click on Manage How Tags Work.




















->Edit the settings as shown in the image or set them to enabled mode.

That's it your Profile (Timeline) Review is set.

whenever you are tagged in a pic by your friends or nonfriends then it appears on your profile or timeline only when you approve it.

                             If you have Profile (Timeline) Review off, then tags from friends are automatically approved. And Whether you have Profile (Timeline) Review on or not, tags from nonfriends require your approval before they go on your profile (timeline).

Coming to the advantage of the review option..,

             whenever an organisation is considering you for a scholarship or a corporate company offering a job ,they're  going to monitor your profile for any questionable images or posts ,but because of the review option we are getting  into safer side and choosing what to  and what not to be on our timeline.

So,guys hurry up!! Activate the feature right now and make your profile(timeline) neat and decent looking.
